"Empowerment Through Education"

Trade Skills Program
Life-Hope's Skills Training Center trains mothers and widows to economically support their families and community.  Our past successes have focused on basket- weaving production, while our current program targets the production and monetization of soap-making, skin moisturizers and fabric design.

The majority of women in the Kiswishi community are illiterate, which gives them no chances whatsoever to finding descent jobs. Due to the conflicts in the country, opportunities are even less, women work dangerous jobs just to provide a meal to the family.

Life-Hope is stepping in to help improve lives of these hard working women by establishing a skills training center. Baskets weaving is a fantastic skill to have, which has been a great success. Their enthusiasm and courage shows that they want to learn.

We are introducing the making of soaps, baby creme and fabric coloring. Not only this is good for the women who can soon work or start their own businesses to support their family, it is good as well for the school. The activity can generate some support for the school.

With little help a mamma will will find a way to care for her children. Please Support this project.
